Upper body ergometer for medical purposes, diagnosis and rehabilitation
Upper body ergometers are becoming increasingly important in training and therapy. A cardio device, it is used for targeted endurance training of the upper extremities. The gas pressure assistance makes it extremely simple to adjust the vertical position of the drive unit by a generous range of 50 cm, and therefore enables settings to train in a seated or upright position. The ramp, just 5 mm high, permits easy access for wheelchair users; the seat is removed entirely for this application. The optional, length-adjustable cranks can be set synchronously to simulate a hand-bike. The FREI body 600 comes with a forwards and backwards drive as a series feature. The system does not provide an isokinetic mode at the moment.
